Your inquiry has been directed to the
appropriate City department for review and a response.Thank you again for your interest in the City of Pleasanton.
Joanne Hall
Public Information Officer
----Original Message----
From: Rick Schussel
Sent:Tuesday,May 06, 2014 12:34 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Meeting: possible mandatory Water Reductions
I like to address the possible mandate of 25%reduction in water.... I am not able to make the meeting, but BELIEVE
STRONGLY that these points must be answered before a vote:
1. What cuts will the city be making and where? City lands use a lot of water.. Is the City of Pleasanton going to cut
their watering of golf courses, sport parks, and street landscaping by 25%or more? Perhaps 50%would be appropriate.
2. When is the City Council going to look at watering these lands strictly with recycled sewage water?
3. Will construction of new housing be stopped until the draught is over and until the city has additional water rights
to support new housing
4. If our deliveries from Zone 7 were cut to zero, where is the city going to find new sources of water rights for this
year and the future?
5. When we will we see the median strips all across the city be watered properly and without all the extra water
running into the gutters all over town. This is an ongoing issue and has been so for years. Perhaps it is time for the
median water to be shut off or reduced in length of watering.
Rick Schussel
Pleasanton,Ca
1
