Attachment I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DECLARING A STAGE 3 WATER SHORTAGE AND MANDATING THAT <br /> PLEASANTON WATER CUSTOMERS REDUCE THEIR POTABLE WATER USAGE <br /> BY TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (25%) <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California has experienced three consecutive years of below <br /> average rainfall and the governor has declared a drought emergency; and <br /> WHEREAS, Zone 7 will reduce by 25% water available to the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, City's Urban Water Management Plan and Municipal Code Chapter 9.30 <br /> Water Conservation Plan sets a series of stages and corresponding water use restrictions; and <br /> WHEREAS, to date, the Stage. 1 voluntary water reduction goal of a 20% has not been <br /> met and water usage has increased compared to the same time last year; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is highly likely that the supply of potable water will be 25% less than last <br /> year's availability and the City desires to maintain a sufficient water supply to ensure public <br /> health and safety <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE.AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. It declares a Stage 3 water shortage pursuant to Municipal Code Chapter <br /> 9.30 and mandates that Pleasanton water customers reduce their potable water usage by twenty <br /> five percent (25%). <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on May 6, 2014. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on May 6, 2014, by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Ayes: <br /> Noes: <br /> Absent: <br /> Abstain: <br /> Jerry Thorne, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Karen Diaz, City Clerk <br />
