CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> April 15, 2014 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS AND AWARD <br /> CONTRACT TO SANACT, INC. DBA ROTO-ROOTER IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $42,000 FOR THE STONERIDGE MALL SEWER BYPASS PROJECT, <br /> CIP NO. 102018 <br /> SUMMARY' <br /> Bids have been received for the subject project for the installation of an 8" sewer bypass <br /> line between two existing manholes for the sewer servicing the Stoneridge Mall area. <br /> Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible <br /> bidder Sanact, Inc. dba Roto-Rooter, in the amount of $42,000. The project includes <br /> the installation of 202 feet of 8 inch sewer main and modification of two existing <br /> manholes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the contract for the project to Sanact, Inc. dba <br /> Roto-Rooter of Livermore, California, for a low bid amount of$42,000. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute any <br /> required contract change orders to address unanticipated project conditions for a <br /> not-to-exceed amount of$4,200 (10% of the contract). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $46,461, including a construction <br /> contingency of $4,200 for unforeseen items and other construction related services. <br /> Funding for the Stoneridge Mall Sewer Bypass project, CIP No. 102018, was included in <br /> the FY 2010/11 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget. A summary of funding and <br /> estimated expenditures is presented in Attachment 2. <br />
