Joanne Hall Public Information Officer Original Message From: Kellene Cousins Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2014 7:12 AM To: Mayor and City Council List Subject: Fwd: Funding for consultants for the EPSP and RHNA numbers » Dear Mayor Thorne and Members of the City Council, » As a neighborhood representative on the EPSP for the past 18 months who has just learned of the adjusted numbers regarding the necessary RHNA units through 2022 for Pleasanton, I am concerned about the continued use of the developer funded consultants and the continued study of the task force's "preferred plan" that is going forward based on incorrect information ( past RHNA calculations). Continuing along the earlier course of action regarding the East Side will be based on misinformation and may be obsolete by the time it is necessary to develop the East Side of Pleasanton in 2022-23. Many of my neighbors and those members of the community with whom I have consulted are very concerned about the large numbers of housing units that are being considered for the East Side, especially with the number of units that have already been re-zoned around the City and that the proposed EPSP development is of significant distance from BART or regional highways. Why would we want to add more housing units than mandated, more traffic and costly infrastructure to the our community than is currently necessary? Please help our community get in control of this "run-away development train" and help reduce the additional expense that proceeding as usual on this course will acid to the City Staff and landowners of the East Side.
