Staff recently confirmed with the California Department of Housing
and Community Development (HCD) that we may count units approved but not occupied
prior to the end of 2013 towards our RHNA requirement. This report provides a summary
of this information and further discusses implications for the Specific Plan process
currently underway for East Pleasanton.
RECOMMENDATION
Review information and take public comment; provide feedback to staff.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Staff costs related to the Housing Element update are covered in the Planning Division's
Advance Planning budget. The $60,000 recently approved for a Professional Services
Agreement with PMC for planning services related to the Housing Element update is
being funded from the City's Low Income Housing Fund.
