MOTION: It was m/s by Pentin/Narum to direct staff not to consider further future discussion of the Mills <br /> Act program. Motion carried by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Narum, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: Councilmembers Brown and Cook-Kallio <br /> Absent: None <br /> Consider further future discussion of first floor design review <br /> MOTION: It was m/s Brown/Cook-Kallio to direct staff to consider further future discussion of first floor <br /> design review. Motion carried by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Pentin <br /> Noes: Councilmembers Narum and Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: None <br /> MOTION: It was m/s Thorne/Narum to accept the task force recommendations, as modified by the <br /> Council; waived full reading and adopted Resolution No. 14-655 approving amendments to the <br /> General Plan; waived full reading and adopted Resolution No. 14-653 approving amendments to the <br /> Downtown Specific Plan; waived full reading and adopted Resolution No. 14-654 approving <br /> amendments to the Downtown Design Guidelines relating to historic preservation and residential design <br /> within the Downtown Specific Plan Area; introduced and waived first reading of Ordinance No. 2088 <br /> approving amendments to the Pleasanton Municipal Code relating to story pole requirements and <br /> demolition by neglect: within the Downtown Specific Plan Area; and waived full reading and adopted <br /> Resolution No. 14-656 approving the Context Statement for the Downtown Historic Preservation. <br /> Motion carried by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Narum, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Councilmember Cook-Kallio expressed an interest in memorializing the term "Pleasanton Downtown <br /> Historic Neighborhood" in some way. <br /> Mr. Dolan requested time to provide a more thoughtful recommendation on the idea. <br /> 10. Consider the formation of a City Council Legislative Advocacy Subcommittee and the appointment <br /> of two council members <br /> Vice-Mayor Pentin and Councilmember Cook-Kallio indicated their interest in serving on the committee. <br /> Mayor Thorne also indicated his interest, noting that in his role on the Board of Directors of the League <br /> of California Cities he is provided with expert analysis on all legislation. <br /> Councilmember Cook-Kallio respectfully pointed out that all members of the Council receive this <br /> information, but the purpose of the committee is to ensure that the Council is considering all information <br /> resources that are available. She said this particular committee is a true passion for her and felt her <br /> experience in legislative analysis would be of particular benefit. <br /> Vice-Mayor Pentin ceded his request to the Mayor. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s Narum/Pentin to authorize the formation of a City Council Legislative Advocacy <br /> Subcommittee and to appoint Councilmember Cook-Kallio and Mayor Thorne.
