Facility Funding and Implementation
Due to the overall scope of the improvements outlined in the Master Plan it does not
include specific or overall cost estimates. However, it identifies funding options which
include traditional sources such as development impact fees, grants and development
agreements with private developers, as well as alternative funding options including
non-profit foundations, user fees, bonds, corporate sponsorships, adopt-a-park
programs, special assessment districts. While the City has had significant success
with financing capital expansion and renovation, the recommendation in the Master
Plan will require additional prioritization and an extended time frame for the City to
complete.
CONCLUSION
RJM Design Group, Inc., has recently completed the Parks and Recreation Master Plan
which ultimately creates a long range vision for the provision of parks and recreation
within a flexible framework that can also be responsive to changes in technology, life
style and recreational preference. RJM Design Group, Inc., along with staff will present
the document and its process to the City Council and the Parks and Recreation
Commission at their joint workshop on February 24, 2014. Staff is requesting that the
City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission receive the presentation and
provide comment.
Submitted by: Approve by:
C?.
