/ <br /> <br /> %~EREAS, Pleasanton Avenue from Rose Avenue to Bernal <br />Avenue (formerly County Road No. 2000) adjoins the Alameda County <br />~air Grounds on the Southeast and is a principal access road to <br />said Alameda County Fair Grounds; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREA~, Pleasanton Avenue s also a main access road <br />into the Town of Pleasanton from the Dublin-Sunol Road and Bernal <br /> <br />Avenue; and <br /> WHEHEAS, said Pleasanton Avenue is traveled heavily <br /> <br />by people from outside the Town of Pleasanton, particularly during <br />the holding of Alameda County Fairs at the Fair Grounds; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the County of Alameda is the owner of the <br />fee title to the Alameda County Fair Grounds, which border said <br />portion of Pleaeanton Avenue on the Northwest side; and <br /> <br /> ~LEREAS, said portion of Pleasanton Avenue is now <br />paved only in the center strip thereof and said pavement is in <br />poor condition, the~e are no curbs or gutters along said portion <br />of Pleasanton Avenue and there is no sidewalk ~rea marked out <br /> <br />thereon; and <br /> ~{E~AS, the improvement of said portion of Pleasanton <br /> <br />Avenue is of particular interest to poodle of Alameda County <br />generally in connection with the holding off&irs at the Alameda <br />County ~air Grounds; <br /> <br /> NOW T~REFO_XE, IT IS RESO~¢ED BY ~HE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE TO,~ OF PLEASANTON: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Council is of the opinion and hereby <br />determines that the improvement of said portion of Pl~asanton <br />Avenue from Rose Avenue to Bernal Avenue is of more than local <br />interest and is of interest to the people of Alameda County as a <br />whole; <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
