•
THE CITY OF 4- • id..
„ ° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTON.
February 18, 2014
Operations Services Department
TITLE: APPROPRIATE FUNDING FOR RECYCLED WATER RELATED
IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDED AS PART OF THE VAL VISTA PARK
RECYCLED WATER RETROFIT PROJECT
SUMMARY:
As part of the Val Vista Park Recycled Water Retrofit project, staff has been
working with Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) to convert the park
infrastructure, including Sprinklers, Valves and pipes to meet specifications to
accommodate 1:he use and transmission of recycled water to the park. As an
outcome of this effort, an agreement was reached with DSRSD to construct a
recycled water main/interconnect with the ability to send recycled water from its
waste water treatment plant at Johnson Court to Val Vista Park for use by the City
at the park.
To facilitate this project, staff approved construction specifications for the water
interconnect with the intent on it being constructed as part of a larger DSRSD
managed plant improvement project that is currently under construction. Based
on City specifications, DSRSD obtained a cost estimate to include this work as
part of its larger project and at this time the work has been completed in a
satisfactory manner. As such, staff is now recommending authorization to
reimburse DSRSD for completion of the work.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize payment in an amount not to exceed $118,698 to DSRSD from the City's
Recycled Water Fund (Fund 345) for installation of the recycled water main to
provide recycled water to Val Vista Park.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT •
Funding for this CIP project is available in the Recycled Water Fund (Fund 345).
