THE CITY OF 1 4
r Wes.'
m CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
LEASANTON©
February 4, 2014
City Manager
TITLE: ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THE FM3 CITIZEN SATISFACTION SURVEY
AND PROPOSED PERFORMANCE EVALUATION METRICS
SUMMARY
The Pleasanton City Council on September 3, 2013, approved a contract with Fairbank,
Maslin, Maulin, Metz & Associates (FM3) to prepare and conduct a survey of
Pleasanton resident satisfaction with city services and quality of life. The survey was
conducted on November 1-7, 2013. City residents remain very satisfied with the quality
of life in Pleasanton, again producing the highest ratings seen. John Fairbank, President
of FM3, will discuss the results in detail at the meeting.
The survey provides baseline data for the performance of city staff both in terms of the
ratings of Departments and in the evaluation of the overall professionalism, courtesy
and competence of city employees.
Also included in this report, are proposed performance metrics which, in coordination
with ongoing survey data, can provide the community with a more informed and
objective evaluation of the City's success in meeting the needs of the community.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council accept the report from FM3 and the proposed
performance metrics.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
None
