10 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> UM& <br /> -4 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> LEASANTONC <br /> January 21, 2014 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: FORMATION OF A CITY COUNCIL LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE AND THE <br /> APPOINTMENT OF TWO COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City Council expressed support for the formation of a legislative committee on July <br /> 16, 2013. Each year, the Mayor reviews and revises assignments to City Council <br /> committees and various regional boards and commissions. The City Council ratified <br /> assignments for calendar year 2014 on December 17, 2013. The formation of a <br /> legislative committee would update the City Council committee assignment list (see <br /> Exhibit A) and establish a process for the City Council to receive recommendations <br /> regarding state and federal legislative matters. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> 1. Approve the formation of a legislative committee. <br /> 2. Discuss and approve the appointment of two city councilmembers to the committee. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> There is no fiscal impact. <br />
