7 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> VI CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON© <br /> January 21, 2014 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AN AGREEMENT WITH PGADESIGN INC FOR THE <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF A MASTER PLAN FOR THE PIONEER CEMETERY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> At its September 17, 2013 meeting, the City Council authorized staff to obtain proposals <br /> from qualified firms to develop a master plan for the Pioneer Cemetery. Request for <br /> Proposals were solicited beginning October 4, and four (4) proposals were received by <br /> the November 1, 2013 deadline. After formal interviews with two (2) perspective firms, <br /> staff determined that PGAdesign INC is the most responsive and qualified firm to <br /> develop the master plan for the Pioneer Cemetery. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the Agreement with PGAdesign INC <br /> not to exceed $61,000 for the development of the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan and <br /> appropriate the necessary funds from the Cemetery fund. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Costs among the four (4) proposals ranged from $46,800 to $56,700. The proposed not <br /> to exceed contract for $61,000 includes ($51,513) for related expenses for the <br /> development of the master plan and ($8,800) for an aerial, utility and topo survey of the <br /> site and any unforeseen issues that may arise with the historic cemetery. Funding is <br /> available for professional services to develop the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan in <br /> Cemetery fund. <br />
