4
REPORT
Results of the test program will be incorporated into an Archaeological Data Recovery
Report to be submitted to Caltrans. The final report with any supplementary materials
will be filed with the California Historical Resources Information System, Northwest
Information Center(CHRIS/NWIC).
CURATION
If artifacts requiring curation are recovered during the testing program, they will be
curated at the David A. Fredrickson Archaeological Collections Facility, Sonoma State
University, Rohnert Park. An accession number will be acquired at that time. Cultural
materials and samples shall be processed for curation in accordance with the facility's
requirements. The materials shall be stored in labeled boxes in BASIN's laboratory until
transfer is arranged.
PERSONNEL
Dr. Colin I. Busby, RPA is the Principal Investigator/Project Archaeologist; Mr.
Christopher Canzonieri (MA) is the Lead Archaeologist and Physical Anthropologist and
will be assisted by BASIN staff including Ms. Josie Twigg (MA) and Mr. Stuart Guedon
(MA).
SCHEDULE
It is estimated that the fieldwork may be completed within two-three weeks of a notice to
proceed. Start of fieldwork will require field marking of units for USA review,
scheduling of heavy equipment, availability of Native American Monitor, coordination
with Caltrans, etc. Fieldwork will require three days if cultural materials are not exposed.
Note: The exposure of cultural materials and human remains will require consultation
with Caltrans and the probable activation of the Archaeological Data Recovery
component of the Mitigation Plan.
COST NOTES
A three-day field program is proposed as working conditions allow only a 6-hour day
based on probable traffic conditions. Time is also allocated for a pre-test visit to mark
units (and alternative units) and pre-locate work areas for USA review. A private utility
locator is not budgeted and it is assumed that traffic control is not required. A Native
American monitor is included (with expenses) for three days.
A contingency of 15% is included due to potential design and engineering changes that
could occur due to changes.
Scope and Cost Estimate-Archaeological Test Plan
Encroachment Permit 0411-NMC0671
Mitigation Plan-CA-CA-ALA-574
June 2013(Revised November 2013)
