CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDII~NCE NO. 880 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MORATORI~ ON COr~VERSION <br /> OF EXISTING MULTIPLE FAMILY RENTAL DWELLINGS TO <br /> CONDOMINIUMS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Members of the City Council have recently requested staff <br /> to prepare a report regarding condominium conversions <br /> detailing problems created by such conversions and the <br /> potential solutions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The staff is preparing a report for the City Council <br /> setting forth proposed code and General Plan amendments <br /> to deal with the potential problems created by condominium <br /> conversions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Since the City Council's request, a number of condominium <br /> conversion applications have been made to the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ORDAINS AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. A moratorium is hereby placed on the acceptance and <br /> processing of applications for and on the approval of <br /> conversions of existing multiple family rental dwellings <br /> to condominiums or condominium projects. This moratorium <br /> shall be in full force and effect from March 14, 1979, <br /> through July 21, 1979, or until the effective date of <br /> an ordinance of the City Council repealing this ordinance, <br /> or adopting condominium conversion regulations. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is adopted pursuant to § 65858 of the <br /> Government Code. It is the intent of the City for the <br /> purposes of this emergency zoning ordinance to treat <br /> condominium and community apartment projects differently <br /> than apartment projects (land similar rental structures) <br /> due to the different demands the two types of projects <br /> place upon the City, and due to the different purposes, <br /> functions and expectations served by the two types of <br /> projects. <br /> <br /> <br />
