Business Anniversary Recognition <br /> Economic Development Director Ott recognized the 118 Pleasanton businesses celebrating milestone <br /> anniversaries this year and encouraged the public to view the full list on the City's online Business <br /> Resource Center. She read the names and Mayor Thorne presented plaques to those present. <br /> 10. Public Comment <br /> Robert Natsch voiced his opposition to the Summerhill housing development and encouraged the <br /> Council to consider revising the currently proposed plan. He explained that the proposed project would <br /> replace a single story industrial complex located less than 200 yards from his master bedroom with a <br /> two to three story residential complex. In addition to privacy, noise and traffic concerns, the project <br /> threatens to impact wildlife in the arroyo. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 11. Public Hearing: P13-1858, City of Pleasanton — Selection of a Preferred Plan and Plan Options <br /> for Preparation of a Draft Specific Plan and Environmental Impact Report for East Pleasanton <br /> Community Development Director Dolan introduced the item. He provided background on planning <br /> process to date, which includes the collection of background information and education of the task <br /> force, analysis of development opportunities and constraints, and a task force visioning exercise. This <br /> work, with feedback from the Planning Commission and Council, informed the development of the land <br /> use and circulation plan alternatives that are being considered for evaluation under the Environmental <br /> Impact Report (EIR). <br /> Mr. Dolan noted that unlike a project EIR, which evaluates alternatives to a specific project, the <br /> planning process and EIR here are more interwoven. Staff and the task force have developed a number <br /> of alternatives and selected one as the base alternative. The guidance documents provided by the <br /> California Office of Planning and Research refer to this as the preferred plan, but he stressed that this <br /> does not indicate any sort of commitment to or preference for the plan by the city.
