Thanks for being City Planning Manager .
Today, I would like to share my comments in related to East Pleasanton Specific Plan for being a resident of
Pleasanton and also a resident of Ironwood classics.
1) First of all, there is a lot of traffic congestion on Valley Avenue during school drop off and pick up time from
the activities. How can we resolve this issue? Do we have a solution to the existing problem ?If not, how can we
add more traffic to the existing one ( Example: 1759 units. If each unit have two cars and also their visitors?
Just imagine! )
Please note: Every day on school days, I need to give an extra amount of time(20 to 25 mms) to start from my
home to school. Think about how early do I need to start in order to go to school usually it should take less than
10 minutes.
2) There is a solution to ease the traffic congestion some extent by not adding multiple units. For example :
Eliminating Residential 11 DU/AC and also Residential 23 DU/AC on Busch road.
3) Is there a specific reason to build all the homes on Busch Road to El Charro with a preferred plan? As a
resident, I also would like to understand the other open spaces which are available within the city? Is it possible
to off load some of the homes from Bush Road other than Single Family homes? This is not San Ramon nor
Dublin nor Livermore to come with a plan like that. Pleasanton is a unique city and had its own
4) We already have issues with the pool from outsiders and also unable to provide extra vigilance during the
night time. How are you going to consider the safety issues of the existing residents before adding more
residents near to our community?
5) Why the city is changing the preferred plan to 1759 units instead of 1430? Did city ever worked first
preferred plan with 1430 units? Understand the issues and had solutions for the existing problems and also for
1430 units and also the unforeseen issues with the new preferred plan.
6) Planning commission can approve 85% as a single family units (11 units per acre) and 15% high density
homes. Please note, more single family units means more revenue to the city.
I am proud and happy being a resident of Pleasanton for more than 10 years because Pleasanton City Council
put all the efforts and measures to turn it to a Pleasant city with less crime and beautiful. I know if we look at
area wise Pleasanton looks small when we compare to Dublin, San Ramon and Livermore. But city can
generate revenue by inviting new small and big businesses(innovative companies), building rental properties (
this can ease of housing cap some extent) but not building more homes on one end that can lead to more
problems.
As a resident, I would like to urge you with a strong voice to rethink and come with a solutions to the existing
issues and plan such a way so that future generations can also appreciate city council efforts and their plans for
Pleasant City.
1
