Why should East Pleasanton be over-burdened to meet the multi-family housing need for all of
Pleasanton? This clearly does not reflect a balanced distribution across Pleasanton that City
Council members said they supported. We are also concerned this doesn't consider the impact
the recently approved Auf De Maur plan will add. Together the projects would add more than
2000 total units and close to 1000 multifamily units to a concentrated East Pleasanton Area.
Traffic is already at near unacceptable levels. This will most certainly seriously impact our
roads.
We request that you consider a more balanced distribution of RHNA numbers and high density
housing across the city, instead of asking East Pleasanton to absorb 50% of the high density
housing.
(5) We ask you to continue the City's program of controlled and balanced growth so that East
Pleasanton will not be flooded with an inordinate amount of new houses over short period
time. In order to meet the expected infrastructure costs, developers will be seeking a glut
of housing approvals right up front.
(6) We would like to see an option where the OSC is moved so the new development can be
better blended with existing homes.
(7) We hope you as our representatives will continue to fight to maintain local control in
City planning. We desire a pushback on RHNA and ABAG and its One Bay Area decentralized
planning. We don't want Pleasanton planned by planners in Oakland!
We appreciate your consideration of the above issues.
Thank you.
lin Dong
2
