THE CITY OF 13 <br />V" N." <br />-- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />September 17, 2013 <br />Community Development <br />Planning Division <br />TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 17.38 TO <br />TITLE 17 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO COMPLY <br />WITH THE 2012 PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT <br />AND STATE LAW PERTAINING TO DENSITY BONUS. <br />SUMMARY <br />The subject application is a City- initiated amendment to the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br />The purpose of the amendment is to implement Program 9.6 of the 2012 Housing <br />Element of the Pleasanton General Plan and to comply with State Density Bonus Law. <br />The amendment will provide for increases in density (density bonuses) and regulatory <br />concessions for housing developments that provide a specified percentage of affordable <br />or senior housing. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />Recommended to the City Council approval of the proposed amendment to the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code by 5 -0 vote. The Planning Commission staff report and draft <br />meeting minutes for August 28, 2013 are included as Attachment 3. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Introduce the attached draft ordinance amending Title 17 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code by adding a new Chapter 17.38 (Density Bonus). <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />No fiscal impact to the City or public services is anticipated. <br />
