20.24.160 CFC Sections 903.2.1, 903.2.1.1, 903.2.1.2, 903.2.1.3, 903.2.1.49 <br />903.2.1.5, 903.2.2, 903.2.3, 903.2.4, 903.2.4.1, 903.2.5, 903.2.5.1, <br />903.2.5.2, 903.2.5.3, 903.2.5.4, 903.2.6, 903.2.6.1, 903.2.6.2, 903.2.7, <br />903.2.7.1, 903.2.8, 903.2.8.1, 903.2.9, 903.2.9.1, 903.2.9.2 903.2.10 and <br />903.2.10.1 are deleted. <br />20.24.170 CFC Section 903.3.1.2 amended - NFPA 13R Sprinkler Systems. <br />Section 903.3.1.2 is amended to read: <br />903.3.1.2 NFPA 13R sprinkler systems. Automatic sprinkler systems in Group R <br />occupancies up to and including four stories in height shall be permitted to be installed <br />throughout in accordance with NFPA 13R as amended in Chapter 47 and the following; <br />Sprinklers shall be provided in all attic areas. Attic sprinklers shall be intermediate rated <br />residential sprinklers. <br />20.24.180 CFC Section 903.3.1.3 amended — NFPA 13D sprinkler systems. <br />Section 903.3.1.3 is amended to read: <br />903.3.1.3 NFPA 13D sprinkler systems. Residential automatic fire sprinklers systems <br />shall be installed in accordance to NFPA 13D in all new one- and two- family dwellings. <br />In addition, the fire - sprinkler system shall be designed and sprinklers shall be installed <br />in the following additional locations: <br />1. Attic shall be provided with intermediate temperature -rated residential fire <br />sprinklers for detection coverage, and located at a spacing equivalent to 30 feet <br />by 30 feet centers and a maximum distance of 15 feet from outside walls. <br />2. Fire sprinklers shall be provided in garages. Fire sprinklers shall be intermediate <br />rated, quick response type, with a maximum coverage area of 130 square feet <br />per sprinkler. <br />20.24.190 CFC Section 903.3.1.3.1 added — Existing residential dwellings. <br />Section 903.3.1.3.1 is added to read: <br />903.3.1.3.1 Existing residential dwellings. Existing residential dwellings may be <br />reviewed on a case by case basis and shall be provided with an automatic fire <br />extinguishing system conforming to the most current requirements of the 2013 <br />California Building Code, California Fire Code, the National Fire Protection Association <br />(NFPA) 13D when: <br />Additional units as a result of a lot division or any change to existing conditions of <br />approval resulting in more than two R -3 occupancies, or alteration affecting fire <br />department access in accordance with the California Fire Code Section 503. <br />
