CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 863 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1976 EDITIONS OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE AND THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE AND AMENDING SECTIONS OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON WHICH ADOPT AND MODIFY THOSE CODES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Article 1 (Adoption of Uniform Building Code with Dele- tions and Modifications), Chapter 3 (Building Codes), Title II (Zoning and Development) is amended in its entirety to read as follows: Article 1 Adoption of Uniform Building Code With Deletions and Modifications ~2-l2.35 Adoption of the Uniform Building Code. There is hereby adopted by reference that certain code known as the Uniform Building Code, more particularly described below, except such portions as are hereinafter amended, modified or deleted, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. Said Uniform Building Code is the UNIFORM BUILDING 1976 Edition, and Appendix Chapters 35, 49 and 70. (3) copies of this Uniform Code are on file in the of the City Clerk for use by the public. CODE, Three office ~2-l2.36 Amendments, Modifications, Additions to and Deletions from the Adopted Code. The Adopted Code is modified as follows: a. Amendments or Modifications. 1. Whenever in the Adopted Code the words "Building Official" are used, they shall mean the Director of Planning and Community Development of the City of Pleasanton or his agent. 2. Section 104(a) is hereby amended by adding a third paragraph to read as follows: 'When valuation of an addition to an existing Group Rl or R3 structure exceeds one thousand dollars, such structure shall be equipped with smoke detectors in accordance with Sections l3l0(a) or 1413, as applicable.' r 1
