Karen Diaz
Subject: FW: Old House at 4202 Old Stanley Blvd n
14 'flAL. MATERIAL
re Ile City Council
stribution of Packet
From: Linda Garbarino
X-19—ad/3
Sent: Monday, August 19, 2013 3:17 PM :late
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Old House at 4202 Old Stanley Blvd.
Hello Mayor Thorne and Pleasanton Council Members,
I am contacting you to ask for your support for the full rehabilitation of the old house lccated at 4202 Old
Stanley Blvd. through the new buyers represented by Dale Morris, Broker, from United California Brokers.
This issue will be heard at your August 20 Council meeting.
Mr. Morris's buyers have a plan that supports fully rehabilitating the home for purposef11 use. As stated by Mr.
Morris: Basically once the home is complete it will be in excellent condition yet will still have the old charm
of down town Pleasanton. The elevations of the home will not be changed much, if Et all.
This is clearly a win-win for those who want to maintain the home and keep it from demolition. It removes the
conflict Ponderosa saw as a barrier to their development from the beginning. They would not have to put any
money, time or effort toward their "cosmetic face lift plan" for the old house. I can't imagine that Ponderosa
would purposely block a buyer who wants to fully restore the old house to save it from iemolition. It would
certainly make them look bad. The full rehabilitation by Mr. Morris' client supports the goals of the
homeowners and merchants on that street who have rehabilitated old homes and made tsem into successful and
attractive businesses. Supporting United California's earnest buyer's plan provides the cuuncil with an
opportunity to demonstrate a way to protect and enhance heritage property that fronts tt.e street while
supporting the construction of the new homes proposed by Ponderosa behind the old house. Why is this not a
good example of a win-win for both parties that the council could get behind?
Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
Linda and George Garbarino
Division Street
Pleasanton, Calif.
94566
t
