August 2, 2013 <br /> Re: ES Ring Project at the Corner of Stanley and Bernal <br /> Mayor Jerry Thorne <br /> Pleasanton City Council Members <br /> As a 40 year resident of downtown Pleasanton and a downtown business owner <br /> for most of those 40 years, I would like to weigh in on the ES Ring project. <br /> From the very beginning of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, we have <br /> looked for ways to expand and enlarge the downtown. I think this project gives <br /> us the perfect opportunity to do so. We should consider the businesses that <br /> locate there as part of the downtown. Then we can work to bring with them all <br /> of the businesses between Bernal and Stanley and the heart of downtown. <br /> The residences are within walking distance of Main Street and will tiring more <br /> foot traffic to our downtown. In addition, I think this project is very well planned <br /> by a firm that is experienced in developing this sort of mixed-use project. They <br /> know from experience what works. If I were looking to move, I would seriously <br /> consider moving there because of its location, design and wonderfi,I amenities. <br /> I hope you will give this project every consideration and approve it.
