Karen Gonzales
Subject: FW: Vintage Village Planned Development
Original Message
From: Storrs Family
Sent: Tuesday, August 06, 2013 4:33 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Vintage Village Planned Development
Dear Mayor Thorne and Pleasanton City Council Members:
I am emailing you since I am out of state and unable to attend to tonight's City Council meeting to address my concerns
and objections regarding the planned 300+ unit apt complex/shopping center development for the vacant parcel at the
SE corner of Stanley Blvd and Bernal Ave.
As a Vintage Hills resident since 2001, I am concerned with the very real negative impacts of traffic, noise, and litter
including the arroyo area to the rear of the proposed development. For City of Pleasanton traffic engineers and/or
planners to indicate minimal traffic congestion for that area/intersection is unrealistic. As a 23+year local government
employee in the police, community development, and public works departments, I sincerely feel their assessment with a
project of that size and scope will absolutely have impacts. I am for planned development of that parcel, however
would like to see more mitigation and/amenities and less high-density housing.
I am also concerned about the negative impacts to the newly revitalized Vintage Hills shopping center with additional
proposed shopping and competition.
Please reconsider and come back to the community with a development that is a win-win for all parties.
Sincerely,
Celeste Storrs
1.
