Allen Matkins Leek Gamble Mallory&Natsis LLP
Attorneys at Law
East Pleasanton Specific Plan Task Force
Pleasanton City Council
June 17,2013
Page 3
places where the alternatives identify potential school sites. Here again, a school located in the
area would increase risks of drowning and accidents at those lakes and in the Arroyo Mocho.
Third, the Vulcan mining operation involves dangerous machinery, miles of conveyors,
large piles of material, and a large volume of earth moving equipment and other vehicles. All these
things attract youth, and all are dangerous.
Finally,by its nature a mining operation is noisy, dusty and generates vibrations. All these
things would be disruptive to a school, and all militate against location of a school site in the EPSP
area.
For these reasons, Rhodes&Jamieson urges the City Council, City Planning and the Task
Force to reconsider the potential location of a school site in the EPSP area, and to eliminate the
school site from that area.
We and Rhodes&Jamieson are happy to address any questions the Council, the Planning
Department or the Task Force may have.
Sincerely,
ratoefrat
Marshall C. Wallace
MCW/mjk
cc: Pete McDonald,
