HARRIS DESIGN 755Fdger Avenue.Berkeley.CA94710 1 1: 510.647.3792 1. 510.647.3712 I www.hd-la.com
• r
June 4, 2013
Mr. Mike Fulford
City of Pleasanton
P.O. Box 520
3333 Busch Road
Pleasanton, CA 94566
RE: Bernal Community Park Phase 2/Additional Services Authorization #1
Dear Mike:
Thank you for requesting this proposal to provide additional professional services to
prepare design and construction documents for the Oak Woodland Area and Bernal
Drainage Channel Improvements. We are excited about the addition of these quality-of-
life features that will provide a complete recreational experience in keeping with Bernal
Community Park's role as the City's Central Park. At your request, we have also revised
the scope and fee for the architectural component.
Following is our proposal for additional services:
6.0 Additional Services
6.01 Oak Woodland Area
The 38-acre Oak Woodland Area will be designed and incorporated into the construction
document package. This project component will increase the diversity of activities
available, provide opportunities for passive recreation, increase the health of local
citizens by providing a significant outdoor open space area with walking, jogging, and
bicycle pathways, and increase clean air, water, and wildlife habitat.
This Additional Services Authorization is based on the following Oak Woodland design
program. Should the program undergo significant modifications, this scope of services
and compensation may need to be adjusted. This proposal is limited to design of
improvements to a maximum of$3.6 million in construction value. This proposal also
assumes the oak woodland will be included in the base bid construction contract. Should
the woodland area be split off into a separate bid package, additional compensation
would be required.
1. Demolition
o Perimeter wire fencing
o Bollards
o Clear and grub
o Misc. other removals
o Retain existing trees
