Regular part-time employees including job share employees averaging between thirty <br /> (30) through thirty-nine (39) hours per week, six (6) hours pay for each fixed holiday <br /> observed by full time employees in the same or similar classification. In addition, seven <br /> (7), six (6) hour floating holidays shall be credited to each regular part-time employee <br /> including job share employees each year. Scheduling and observance of said floating <br /> holidays shall be in accordance with those procedures established for full time <br /> employees. Such floating holidays shall be observed in the calendar year in which they <br /> are credited. <br /> The change in crediting of floating holidays for regular part time employees shall occur <br /> consistent with the conversion procedures established for full time employees. <br /> 11.4 Work on a Holiday <br /> If in the opinion of the Department Head, the employee's services are needed and <br /> required in the interest of the public health, safety or general welfare, the employee shall <br /> be compensated at a rate of pay twice that established for regular time for holiday hours <br /> worked except that employees in the classifications of police dispatcher, senior police <br /> dispatcher and supervising police dispatcher shall be compensated each year for working <br /> holidays through receipt of holiday in lieu pay. Said holiday in lieu pay shall be equal to <br /> seven and one-half percent (7-1/2%) of the employee's annual salary exclusive of any <br /> overtime and shall be in addition to the employee's regular monthly salary. Holiday in <br /> lieu pay shall be paid on the first pay day in December, and the second installment paid <br /> on the first pay day in June. Employees in the classification of police dispatcher, senior <br /> police dispatcher and supervising police dispatcher shall receive prorated holiday pay <br /> upon termination. <br /> 11.5 Holidays Falling on Saturday, Sunday, Scheduled Day Off <br /> When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed; when a <br /> holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed; except that if <br /> Christmas Eve Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday the preceding Friday shall be observed. <br /> If a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled time off, compensatory time off shall be <br /> granted, or, at the option of the employee, compensation at a rate of pay equal to his <br /> regular rate of pay for the holiday period shall be granted. <br /> Section 12. Vacations <br /> 12.1 Vacation Eligibility <br /> All employees in the competitive service shall be entitled to annual vacation leave with <br /> pay except for the following: <br /> I) Employees who have served less than six (6) months in the service of the City. <br /> 2) Employees who work on a provisional or temporary basis and all non-regular part- <br /> time employees. <br /> -16 - <br />
