Mayor Thorne asked the Council once again to allow him and staff an opportunity to develop <br /> performance metrics in order to establish an accountability system that will allow for reasonable <br /> performance evaluations. <br /> Councilmember Pentin agreed and said he would like to see staff establish the metrics. <br /> Vice-Mayor Cook-Kallio said she was still unclear on how this differs from current practices in terms of <br /> budgeting, staff evaluations and fiscal accountability. She said she hated to create another step of <br /> bureaucracy in order to produce what is already known and requested clarification on exactly what the <br /> benchmarks and measures would be. <br /> Mayor Thorne said he envisioned staff coming forward with that sort of information. He moved to pass <br /> the plan with performance metrics. <br /> Councilmember Pentin asked to revise the language regarding Kottinger Task Force to indicate the <br /> intent to complete the Kottinger Place redevelopment. <br /> Vice-Mayor Cook-Kallio asked to bifurcate the vote on adding each item. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Thorne/Pentin to add the development of performance measurers to the Work <br /> Plan.
