AP-10 Consultation <br /> 1. Introduction <br /> The City of Pleasanton recently completed several key planning activities: <br /> • Comprehensive General Plan update (2009) <br /> • Tri-Valley Human Services Needs Assessment update (2011) <br /> • Housing Element revision (2012) <br /> These revisions have produced up-to-date policies for housing and human services that will be in place <br /> in FY 2013 and subsequent years to guide City programs for affordability, preservation,discrimination, <br /> and other housing and community development issues. <br /> Summary of the jurisdiction's activities to enhance coordination between public and assisted <br /> housing providers and private and governmental health, mental health and service agencies <br /> The City of Pleasanton completed a comprehensive update to its General Plan in 2009 resulting in up-to- <br /> date policies for housing and human services.A comprehensive update to the Housing Element was <br /> completed in 2011 and certified by State HCD in 2012.The update included the rezoning of 70 acres of <br /> land for future high-density housing development. A workshop was held in February 2013 for nonprofit <br /> housing agencies to provide information on the rezonings including development potential, property <br /> owner information, and City assistance programs. <br /> The City's Human Services Commission meets monthly to coordinate the delivery of services (including <br /> housing)to lower income residents and special needs groups in the area in cooperation with "Interact," <br /> a body comprised of representatives of each of the social service agencies in the Tri Valley area. <br /> Approximately twice yearly,the Commission holds a special,joint meeting with the City of Livermore <br /> Human Services Commission.The purpose of these joint meetings is to coordinate the delivery of <br /> services in the greater Tri Valley area. <br /> In 2011,the cities completed a comprehensive to the Tri-Valley Human Services Needs Assessment <br /> originally completed in 2003.The update incorporates data from the 2010 Census and will provide an <br /> updated and more accurate picture of services gaps in the Tri-Valley. <br /> The Human Services Commission also collaborates yearly with the City's Housing Commission to conduct <br /> a joint review as part of the annual process of allocating CDBG funds. This collaborative effort, begun in <br /> 1996, has helped to improve the coordination of assistance to housing and services in the area and has <br /> helped to simplify the process of allocating funds to local non-profits,thereby improving service <br /> delivery. <br /> Annual Action Plan 6 <br /> 2013 <br /> 0MB Control No:2506-0117(exp.07/31/2015) <br />
