Connie Post • February 27, 2013 To Whom It May concern, I met Sandra Kay a several years ago at a poetry event and since that time have been impressed with her dedication and excitement about poetry. In my communications with her, I have noticed that she has many skills sets that I think are of utmost importance to the Poet Laureate Position.She possesses a love for poetry,a genuine and gregarious approach with all people,and an enthusiastic immersion into the amazing world of poetry. In addition,she has excellent communication skills which are also critical to the position of Laureate. I think her open and caring nature will facilitate the success of the teen poet laureate program as well. Sandra has been a blogger for years which shows a level of dedication and commitment to writing.She has an eclectic approach to literature which I think will have a wide appeal to literary audiences.She has taught workshops at the Pleasanton Poetry and Arts Festival in previous years. She has demonstrated her abilities in event planning which are critical to the success of the Poet Laureate position. Sandra's consistent attendance to many workshops,and membership in associations with Bay Area Poetry associations demonstrates her interest in the movement and awareness of poetry. Sandra has been present at many poetry readings and local events which I believe shows a commitment to poetry and an authentic interest in the arts.She has demonstrated that she has wonderful networking skills, which contribute greatly to the momentum of the Poet Laureate Program. I believe that Sandra's love and dedication to literature are an Important foundation from which to expound upon the position of Poet Laureate. I feel confident that Sandra would be and excellent choice for Poet Laureate of Pleasanton.
