Alameda CTC Paratransit Program Plan Application
Application Period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014
• s the primary ADA paratransit provider for Pleasanton and Sunol during defined operating hours
Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm), PPS is meeting the Paratransit Program Implementation
uidelines. PPS service area extends beyond the ADA guidelines, fares are consistent with East
Bay Paratransit or LAVTA fares and the services are pre-scheduled, accessible, and door-to-door.
he program does not impose ride limitations based on trip purpose. As of July I, 2012, PPS staff
implemented the new Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) age guidelines
of 70 and older. A limited number of 60-69 year old PPS riders were grandfathered into the program
.s approved by Alameda CTC.
3. If proposing service changes from the current year, FY 12-13, please describe what
changes are proposed and why. Please describe how these changes will impact the ability
of seniors and people with disabilities in your community to meet their basic life needs.
(max. 700 characters)
In reviewing ridership trends, PPS staff has determined that the most impacted time for service is
eekdays between 10:00am to 2:00pm. Most denials occur during this period and this creates
frustration for some riders. Staff is recommending eliminating Saturday Door-to-Door Service and
using those resources to backfill the Monday- Friday 10:00am to 2:00pm prime rider time. This
ould be the most efficient use of staff time and resources. Livermore Amador Valley Transit
• uthority(LAVTA) will provide Dial-A-Ride service for those Pleasanton ADA riders during
Saturdays as it currently does on Sundays.
DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAM PLAN
4. Free rides were offered to anyone completing the surveys, with
findings reviewed by the PPS Task Force. Staff worked with the PPS Task Force to develop (5)five
ew outcome measures as goals for FY 12-13 which helped in the design of the plan.
