The PUSD new strategic plan was developed through collaboration with many groups, including <br /> students, staff, parents and community members. Our mission is to empower "our students to make a <br /> better world". Our vision for our students is to help them become "resourceful, resilient, responsible and <br /> engaged world citizens." We continue to make growth and have witnessed outstanding academic <br /> achievement by our students. <br /> She noted we have approximately 15,000 students, 9 elementary schools, 3 middle school, 2 <br /> comprehensive high schools and 1 alternative high school. <br /> • 34.36% Asian <br /> • 9.29% Latino <br /> • 2.43% Black <br /> • 53.28% White <br /> • 0.65% Native American <br /> Superintendent Ahmadi reviewed the Core Values...We believe... <br /> • with guidance and support all students can reach their greatest potential <br /> • it is our responsibility to inspire curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning <br /> • all students and staff have the right to a safe and respectful learning environment that fosters <br /> positive connections <br /> • in providing learning that is innovative, irresistible, creative, relevant and rigorous <br /> • in ensuring a culture and climate that promotes a highly skilled, dedicated and passionate <br /> educational team <br /> • public education should focus on the whole child, provide equitable opportunities for all <br /> students, and create socially responsible individuals with character and integrity. <br /> District Goals — to meet the challenge of the 21st Century and changing student, community and <br /> societal needs, it is imperative that... <br /> • Curriculum/Instruction — all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or <br /> gender will be college/career ready upon graduation.
