SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Karen Gonzales Provided to the City Council
'it-c
From: Joanne Hall
ent: Monday, April 01, 2013 10:19 AM Date /
fo: Chris Markle; Mayor and City Council
Cc: Maria Hoey; Pleasanton City Clerk
Subject: RE: Please postpone the 4/2 agenda item re "road as structure" due to the holiday next week
Dear Mr. Markle,
Thank you very much for your valuable input regarding Item 10 on the upcoming City Council agenda. This message
acknowledges receipt of your email. Please rest assured that the City Council will have the benefit of your comments.
Kind Regards,
Joanne Hall
Public Information Officer
City of Pleasanton
Original Message
From: On Behalf Of Chris Markle
Sent: Saturday, March 30, 2013 2:03 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Please postpone the 4/2 agenda item re "road as structure" due to the holiday next week
Council members,
Chris Markle here, a resident of Sycamore Heights. I just learned that next Tuesday night at 7 00 pm the city's planning
department has again placed on the agenda a request for the City Council to rule that a road is not a structure. This
despite the unanimous (5 to 0) determination by the Planning Commission that a road is a structure.
Besides a general concern about why the planning department is pressing you all to overrule the
determination/recommendation of the Planning Commission, I have a specific concern about why this important issue is
on the agenda for this particular council meeting, one being held during the Easter vacation. Many of my neighbors in
Sycamore Heights are away this week and I'm sure they, and our other neighbors in Bridal Creek, would like to be able to
attend any council meeting where this important topic is on the agenda.
At minimum, can you postpone this until the next council meeting when more of our neighborhood can be in
attendance?
As to the general topic of"road as structure", I am in full agreement with the Planning Commission on this subject, and I
expect you all to affirm their determination.
But again, please move this topic to a future meeting so more of us can participate in the discussion of it...
Thanks for your attention to this.
_hris Markle
