Recommendations:
(1) There is no requirement to approve an ordinance to further define Measures PP and 00. The City
Council could consider taking no action in this regard.
(2) If the Council deems an ordinance is necessary, then clearly a road should not be defined and/or
categorized as a structure. Based on our research this would not be in alignment with the commonly
accepted use of the term and would set a new standard and precedent within city boundaries. The
unknown future affects of this precedent could seriously tie the hands of future planning in the City of
Pleasanton.
(3) Common sense and the intent of protecting the ridgelines should prevail, rather than the manipulation
of the measures language.
*The Ventana Hills Steering Committee Mission Park Area Representatives
Andy Allbritten Justin Brown
George Dort Carlos Covarrubias
Amy Lofland Jay Hertogs
Carol Spain
Wayne Strickler
*The Ventana Hills Steering Committee was formed as the result of a motion adopted by the Pleasanton City Council at the April 2,
1991 meeting to provide orderly input and successful negotiations for the adoption of the Bonde Ranch Development, known as
PUD 90-18. All five original committee members still comprise the committee and reside in Ventana Hills. Our committee has kept
consistent communication with the residents of our development over the past 20+years.
