Hi, I am writing to voice my concern over the planned departure from the original traffic route for South Pleasanton. As the council knows, residents of Pleasanton were told the route for all development of S. Pleasanton would be onto Sycamore Road. Now it has been decided by the Planning Commision that this flow will be channeled onto Mission Hills Park area. This is an unfortunate policy of bait and switch which deeply destroys trust in city officials, elected or not. I do not want my city to be characterized as one known for untrustworthy officials. I urge the city council to honor the original traffic flow plan and maintain Mission Hills Park as the quiet, safe,family area it has been designed to be. The roads in this area are windy and have many cross streets which demand stops. This is NOT a good route for any expansion at all due to these road conditions. This city has already decided that cut through traffic in this area during school hours is a BAD deal as they have posted "NO TURN" signs into the housing tract off of Bernal during high traffic times. Why?To keep it safe and reduce noise while maintaining a neighborhood feel. I urge the city council to adopt a similar stance towards the Mission Hills area going forward. My husband and I are 32 year residents of this area and walk daily. Further congestion and no se from traffic flow is not what we need in a park area and it would destroy the quality of life of any one using the park and surrounding area for peace and quiet. Thank the council for thoughtful consideration of my concerns. I trust they will do the right thing for Pleasanton and maintain the public trust as well. Candyce Roberts David Roberts 1
