Today Ventana Hills housing
development resides where cattle once resided.
Several things happened when Ventana Hills was built out. 1 traffic that was supposed to go down Mission Drive ended
up being changed to flow down Junipero, this was never planned, but somehow was changed via planners and the city.
2 through traffic is no longer allowed (and has not been allowed for years) on Dolores Drive - why-well it seems
-omeone of influence in the City lives on Dolores and NIMBY (not in my back yard) exists - no cut through on that street.
As Ventana Hills was developed roads were planned to route traffic of future development out of this area through
Sycamore connections. Signs have been in place for years.
Junipero cannot and should not be the primary access and departure street for future development of the hills. Also, as
a civil engineer has documented - roads are not structures- and therefore should not be considered as such under
measure PP.
It is unfortunate the home owners on Sycamore do not want traffic on their street, but why would it be ok to allow
more traffic on Junipero which was never intended to be a through street? The residents of Sycamore have known their
street would be a connector since they purchased their homes.
I strongly oppose streets being considered structures and urge the City Council to do the right thing and not allow roads
to be considered structures.
Sincerely,
Victoria LaBarge

Sent from my iPad
1
