Approval of Proposed Affordable Housing Agreement for RREEF / Pleasanton Partners
California Center Apartment Development
Mr. Bocian noted that at the February 21, 2013, meeting the Commission had reviewed a staff
recommendation for an Affordable Housing Agreement (AHA) for the proposed 305-unit
apartment complex for the 8.4-acre California Center property. At the meeting, the Commission
expressed concerns that the agreement terms did not meet their expectations and asked staff
to meet with the developer to discuss further options.
The Commission was advised that staff has met several times with the developer to work on
developing an affordability level and unit mix that most closely meets the guidelines of the City's
Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance (IZO), City development standards and design guidelines.
