Project-Grant#: 12-89 Hayward Unified School District,Polystyrene Environmental Waste Elimination Grant, <br /> Hayward,West County,$36,388.00-Grant funds will be used to purchase compostable vessels to replace the <br /> polystyrene ones that are currently being used. Funds will also be used to purchase recycle collection containers, <br /> biodegradable bag liners,custodial carts, signage and promotional materials,and a stipend for recycle sustainability <br /> coordinator. <br /> Project-Grant#: 12-91 City of Livermore,Recycling Program Intern,Livermore,East County..$28,500.00-Grant <br /> funds will be used to fund an intern,who would assist in the outreach and support of recycling measures and programs, <br /> including but not limited to, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive food scraps/organics collection program <br /> for schools,institutions,and/or businesses;public education and outreach of recycling programs and measures at weekly <br /> Farmer's Markets,and assistance with community showings of environmental films relating to recycling. <br /> The total 2012 Expenditure Plan budget of$270,000 for Project-Grants was approved by the Board along with the <br /> option to carry over all unexpended funds from previous grant years and expend if necessary. A total of <br /> $251,641.00 in Project-Grants were awarded. <br /> Multi-Year Grants <br /> The Education Advisory Board awarded 0 Multi-Year Grants in the 2012 grant cycle. <br /> The total 2012 Expenditure Plan budget for Multi-Year Grants was$0. <br /> Board Initiated Projects <br /> The Education Advisory Board awarded 0 Board Initiated Project Grants in the 2012 grant cycle. <br /> The total 2012 Expenditure Plan budget for Board Initiated Project Grants was$0. <br /> ALARM Mitigation Projects <br /> Pursuant to the terms of the settlement agreement,the 2012 2012 Funding Allocations <br /> Expenditure Plan set aside$10,000 for mitigation projects for Total Allocations for 2012 were as follows: <br /> landowners in the vicinity of the landfill. The Education <br /> Advisory Board corresponded with ALARM(Altamont Board Communications,website $4,880.00 <br /> Landowners Against Rural Mismanagement)to notify them of Mini-Grants $177,053.94 <br /> the available funding.No applications were submitted for Project Grants $251,641.00 <br /> consideration during the 2012 funding cycle. The Board will <br /> continue to communicate with ALARM regarding appropriate Multi-Year Grants $0 <br /> projects for funding.
