MOTION: It was M/s by Thorne/Cook-Kallio to approve Consent Calendar as amended. Motion carried <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Vice-Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Mayor Hosterman <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 16. Proclamation recognizing the 50`h Anniversary of the Livermore-Amador Symphony <br /> Councilmember McGovern invited the following representatives from the Livermore-Amador Symphony <br /> to introduce themselves: Marcia Echelson, Vice-President; Carol Bolster, Secretary; Ursula Goldstein, <br /> Treasurer and second violinist; and Denise Leddon, Board member and second violinist. <br /> Ms. Bolster said Pleasanton has been an active part of the symphony over the years. She noted that <br /> seven of this year's twelve student competitors for the musician award were Pleasanton students and <br /> that Amador High School served as a concert venue for many years. She invited the Mayor and a guest <br /> to attend an upcoming concert to read the proclamation. <br /> Ms. Echelson said they are honored to accept the proclamation and grateful to the group of women <br /> who, fifty years ago, had the insight to bring a symphony orchestra to the community. <br /> 17. Proclamation recognizing November 2012 as National DECA Month <br /> Councilmember McGovern invited members of the Amador Valley and Foothill DECA organizations <br /> forward to introduce themselves. <br /> Shari Mupeedi, Amador Valley DECA, explained that DECA prepares emerging leaders and <br /> entrepreneurs to pursue different fields of business. She thanked the Council for its time and <br /> consideration. <br /> Sanjana Seth, Amador Valley DECA, stated that DECA emphasizes leadership, professional <br /> development, and community involvement. <br /> Sahil Wadhwa, Foothill DECA, stated that DECA is comprised of more than 200,000 professional and <br /> student members internationally, 400 of which belong to the Foothill and Amador Valley chapters. <br /> 18. Proclamation recognizing November 24, 2012 as Small Business Saturday <br /> Economic Development Director Ott introduced the item. <br /> Councilmember McGovern read the proclamation recognizing November 24, 2012 as Small Business <br /> Saturday. <br /> 19. Public Comment - None <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 20. Approve an amendment to the Kottinger Task Force membership and consider appointment of a <br /> member to fill the new at-large position <br /> Assistant City Manager Bocian provided a brief staff report, stating that staff is recommending several <br /> changes to the Task Force membership approved by the Council in October 2012.
