THE CITY OF 1 j(/
^
rit
-' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pL£ASANTON.
December 4, 2012
Fire
TITLE: APPROVAL OF REVENUE SHARING AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF
LIVERMORE PERTAINING TO PROVISION OF EMERGENCY
SERVICES TO THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION MEDICAL CENTER
— LIVERMORE BY THE LIVERMORE-PLEASANTON FIRE
DEPARTMENT
SUMMARY
The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) seeks to provide emergency
services to the Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center (VMAC) —Livermore by
contract (Attachment 1). The contract is for five years, totaling $4,368,525 which will be
divided equally between the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton. As the VA will only
enter into a contract with one city, the City of Livermore, with support of senior staff in
both cities and the LPFD, executed the contract on behalf of the LPFD in October 2012.
The cities have drafted a Revenue Sharing Agreement (Attachment 2) to govern the
distribution of revenues received under the Emergency Services contract with the VA.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve and authorize the City Manager to execute
on behalf of the City the Revenue Sharing Agreement between the Cities of Livermore
and Pleasanton pertaining to the provision of emergency services to the VMAC by the
LPFD.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The proposed five year contract will result in total revenue of $4,368,525, or $2,184,267
per City. There are no proposed staffing changes associated with this contract, and it is
estimated that additional fuel and material costs will likely be met within the current
LPFD budget.
