Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Vice-Mayor Thorne Noes: None Absent: Mayor Hosterman MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 16. Proclamation recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Livermore-Amador Symphony Councilmember McGovern invited the following representatives from the Livermore-Amador Symphony to introduce themselves: Marcia Echelson, Vice-President; Carol Bolster, Secretary; Ursula Goldstein, Treasurer and second violinist; and Denise Leddon, Board member and second violinist. Ms. Bolster said Pleasanton has been an active part of the symphony over the years. She noted that seven of this year's twelve student competitors for the musician award were Pleasanton students and that Amador High School served as a concert venue for many years. She invited the Mayor and a guest to attend an upcoming concert to read the proclamation. Ms. Echelson said they are honored to accept the proclamation and grateful to the group of women who, fifty years ago, had the insight to bring a symphony orchestra to the community. 17. Proclamation recognizing November 2012 as National DECA Month Councilmember McGovern invited members of the Amador Valley and Foothill DECA organizations forward to introduce themselves. Shari Mupeedi, Amador Valley DECA, explained that DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs to pursue different fields of business. She thanked the Council for its time and consideration. Sanjana Seth, Amador Valley DECA, stated that DECA emphasizes leadership, professional development, and community involvement. Sahil Wadhwa, Foothill DECA, stated that DECA is comprised of more than 200,000 professional and student members internationally, 400 of which belong to the Foothill and Amador Valley chapters. 18. Proclamation recognizing November 24, 2012 as Small Business Saturday Economic Development Director Ott introduced the item. Councilmember McGovern read the proclamation recognizing November 24, 2012 as Small Business Saturday. 19. Public Comment - None PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS 20. Approve an amendment to the Kottinger Task Force membership and consider appointment of a member to fill the new at-large position Assistant City Manager Bocian provided a brief staff report, stating that staff is recommending several changes to the Task Force membership approved by the Council in October 2012.
