ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO- <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON APPROVING THE <br /> USE OF MEASURE B BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDING FOR PAVING OF SEGMENTS <br /> OF THE ARROYO MOCHO TRAIL AND THE RELOCATION OF THE VALLEY AVENUE <br /> BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAIL <br /> WHEREAS, the voters of Alameda County, pursuant to the provisions of the Local <br /> Transportation Authority and Improvement Act, California Public Utilities Code Section 180000 <br /> et seq., approved the reauthorization of Measure B at the General Election held on November 7, <br /> 2000; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority was created to <br /> administer the proceeds from the one-half cent transaction and use tax and the duration of the <br /> tax will be 20 years from the initial year of the collection that began April 1, 2002, with said tax to <br /> terminate/expire on March 31, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Alameda County Transportation Commission has replaced the <br /> Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority in the oversight of the Measure B <br /> funding, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton receives Measure B pass through funding from <br /> Alameda County Transportation Council to be used for Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Council requires the expenditure of <br /> funds to be approved by a public process; and <br /> WHEREAS, at a public hearing on November 27, 2012, staff presented a report <br /> regarding the recommended uses for Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funding; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes the use of Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funds for the <br /> Arroyo Mocho Trail Test Paving Sections west of Santa Rita Road, and the Arroyo <br /> Mocho Trail Paving east of Santa Rita Road, and Relocation of the Veilley Avenue <br /> Bicycle & Pedestrian Trail <br /> SECTION 2. A copy of this resolution will be transmitted to the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Commission <br /> SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on November 20, 2012. <br />
