Paving of this trail is identified in The City of
Pleasanton Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan as a high priority project. The test
paving sections will allow Zone 7 and the City to identify the ideal surface to be used
where soil and slope stability require innovative engineering solutions. The eastern
segment from Santa Rita Road to El Charro will provide a paved off street facility that
will connect to eastern Pleasanton. The relocation of the Valley Avenue Bicycle and
Pedestrian Trail will restore the convenient walking and bicycling pate for students of
Hearst Elementary School and Pleasanton Middle School.
These three projects have undergone preliminary engineering and have the following
combined design and construction costs:
Arroyo Mocho Trail Test Paving Sections west of Santa Rita Road $275,000
Arroyo Mocho Trail Paving east of Santa Rita Road $810,000
Relocation of Valley Avenue Bicycle & Pedestrian Trail $112,500
Total $1,197,500
