THE CITY OF 11 <br /> # • ° --- sis CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON. <br /> October 16, 2012 <br /> Assistant City Manager <br /> TITLE: INFORMATION REGARDING VARIOUS OPTIONS FOR CREATING A <br /> PUBLIC BODY FOR PROMOTING PEACE RELATED PROGRAMS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> At your September 4, 2012 meeting, the City Council directed staff to prepare a set of <br /> recommendations regarding a peace commission for Council consideration. In <br /> response, staff met with Mr. Fred Norman, who has proposed the concept, and <br /> researched various options for City Council consideration. This report outlines five <br /> options that the Council may wish to consider. In addition, the Council may elect to use <br /> this report as a starting point to request additional detail concerning this subject. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Review the alternatives included in this report and provide appropriate direction. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no direct financial impact as a result of this report. In the event the City Council <br /> decides pursue a specific option, there may be some financial impact related to <br /> supporting or providing administrative support to a public body related to promoting <br /> peace related services. <br />
