THE CITY OF / /
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 12
pL£ASANTONo
August 21, 2012
Economic Development
TITLE: ADOPT RESOLUTION REVISING THE CITY'S ECONOMIC VITALITY
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
SUMMARY
Membership on the Economic Vitality Committee (EVC) is designed to include
representation from the broad market segments that comprise Pleasanton's business
community. Current composition of the EVC includes 23 representatives on the
committee. To best reflect the city's current business dynamic and to provide
representation by the business community's significant economic drivers, the EVC
unanimously recommends to the City Council that several membership categories be
amended, resulting in 22 positions on the EVC.
RECOMMENDATION
Rescind Resolution No. 08-214 and adopt a new resolution revising the membership
categories of the Economic Vitality Committee (EVC) to:
1. Identify three specific representatives to the EVC — Hacienda, Alameda County
Fairgrounds, and Stoneridge Shopping Center; and
2. Combine and reposition other categories — Non-Profit Organization and
Community-Based Organization are combined; Information Technology
broadens to High Technology; and Infrastructure is eliminated.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no fiscal impact.
