IN THE AMOUNT OF $694,644 FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br /> INSTALLATIONS ON STONERIDGE DRIVE AT NEWTON WAY, GUZMAN <br /> PARKWAY AND TREVOR PARKWAY, CIP NO. 115036 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the project and staff recommends award of the construction <br /> contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Tim Paxin's Pacfic Excavation, Inc. in the <br /> amount of $694,644. The work consists of installing three traffic signals, signing and <br /> striping, traffic signal interconnect, curb ramp modifications and other minor civil <br /> improvements on Stoneridge Drive at Newton Way, Guzman Parkway, and Trevor <br /> Parkway. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for the project. <br /> 2. Review the bids and award the construction contract to Tim Paxin's Pacific <br /> Excavation, Inc. of Elk Grove, California, for a low bid amount of $694,644. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the City Engineer to approve and execute contract change orders for a <br /> contingency amount not to exceed $69,464 (10% of construction bid), if necessary, <br /> for related project work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There will be an increase in annual operations and maintenance costs due to the <br /> additional signalized intersections in the City. Project construction is fully funded and is <br /> included in the FY 2012/13 Capital Improvement Project (CIP). A budget summary is <br /> attached (Attachment 1). <br />
