THE CITY OF 4 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT L•� <br /> PL£ASANTON. <br /> July 17, 2012 <br /> City Attorney <br /> City Clerk <br /> TITLE: APPROVE NEW FPPC FORM 806 (AGENCY REPORT OF PUBLIC <br /> OFFICIAL APPOINTMENTS) AND AUTHORIZE ITS POSTING ON THE <br /> CITY'S WEBSITE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> A Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) regulation prohibited council members <br /> from participating in a decision to appoint themselves to an external board position, or <br /> mayoral office if the appointment would affect the personal finances of an appointee in <br /> the amount of $250 or more within any 12 month period. That regulation has now been <br /> amended to allow a council member to participate in the appointment process under <br /> certain conditions. One of those conditions is the approval and posting on a city's <br /> website on a new Form 806 that reflects each appointed position for which <br /> compensation is paid to council members, which council members are appointed to <br /> such positions, the amount of stipend paid, and the duration of those appointments. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the completed Form 806 reflecting current City Council member appointments <br /> to positions for which a stipend is paid in excess of $250 in a 12 month period, and <br /> direct the City Clerk to post the form on the City's website and update it as warranted. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This new procedure will have minimal financial impact upon the City. <br />
