THE CITY OF <br /> 7 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONo <br /> June 19, 2012 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY AJW <br /> CONSTRUCTION FOR THE ANNUAL SIDEWALK AND INTERSECTION <br /> RAMP INSTALLATION PROJECT, CIP NO. 105005 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The project consisted of removing and replacing concrete sidewalks which are potential <br /> tripping hazards, intersection ramps for pedestrian accessibility and curb and gutter for <br /> adequate storm flow. Work also included installing new intersection ramps and <br /> sidewalks at various locations in the City. Construction of the project is complete and <br /> ready for acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Accept the improvements for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $11 ,889.33 to AJW <br /> Construction thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the remaining funds in the amount of $14,497.43 to the <br /> Streets Capital Improvement Program (CIP) fund for future streets CIP projects, <br /> and close out the Annual Sidewalk and Intersection Ramp Installation project, CIP <br /> No. 105005. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This project is part of an annual ongoing program that will replace and upgrade existing <br /> infrastructure and will reduce maintenance costs. <br /> Funding for this project was provided by the Annual Sidewalk and Intersection Ramp <br /> Installation Project, CIP No. 105005 which was authorized by City Council as part of the <br /> 2010/2011 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). <br />
