-.THE CITY OF
#.,, CITY COUNCIL — PLANNING COMMISSION
f L'EASANTON. JOINT WORKSHOP AGENDA REPORT
June 5, 2012
Community Development
Planning Division
TITLE: DISCUSSION REGARDING DRAFT HOUSING SITE DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS AND DESIGN GUIDELINES AND DRAFT TOD
STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR THE BART PROPERTY
SUMMARY
The Housing Element adopted in February 2012 includes Program 9.7 requiring the
preparation of development standards and design guidelines to facilitate the
development of multifamily housing on the nine sites rezoned as part of the Housing
Element Update process. The Draft Housing Site Development Standards and Design
Guidelines (Attachment 1) incorporates comments from two community meetings and
other interested parties. In a separate effort, as an addendum to the work on the
Standards and Design Guidelines developed for the Hacienda TOD, staff worked with
the TOD consultant team, BART staff and East Bay Regional Parks staff to develop
draft development standards and design guidelines for the BART site. The draft
document is included in Attachment 2 to this agenda report. Staff is seeking comment
on the documents prior to formal action by the Planning Commission and City Council to
adopt both sets of standards and design guidelines.
RECOMMENDATION
Hear presentation and public input and provide feedback and direction to staff regarding
the content of the Draft Housing Site Development Regulations and Design Guidelines
and Draft Pleasanton TOD Standards and Guidelines for the BART Property.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Consideration of the draft Development Regulations and Design Guidelines will have no
fiscal impact on the City.
