BACKGROUND
The Planning Division is seeking temporary planning assistance to cover a maternity
leave at a time when current planning applications and other planning activities
(including a number of active task forces) make it difficult to cover the work with the
existing staff.
The Director of Community Development contacted three planning firms that provide
contract planning services — LSA Associates, Inc., Urban Planning Partners, Inc., and
Metropolitan Planning Group (MPG) -- and MPG best met the City's need for an
experienced planner with City planning review experience. A brief description of the
firm, the firm principals, and a resume of the Senior Planner to be assigned to this
project is shown in Attachment 2.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
The draft Professional Services Agreement in Attachment 1 is for a total not to exceed
$48,960, which is calculated from an hourly rate of $90, at 32 hours/week, for up to 17
weeks.
Submitted by: Reviewed by: Approved b :
/7)n Dolan Emily Wagner Nelson Fialho
Director of Community Director of Finance City Manager
Development
Attachments:
1.
