ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT Projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15301 Class 3 — New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures. Therefore, no environmental document accompanies this report. CONCLUSION Redwood fences up to eight feet in height are commonly seen in residential neighborhoods. Based on the analysis of this staff report, staff finds that the subject fence is consistent with the findings necessary to approve an overheight fence, and the required landscaping would mitigate the visual concerns from the rear yard neighbor. Further, the appellant initially supported the construction of the subject fence and was the co-applicant for the Administrative Design review Application.
